Evaluation of Automatic Generation Control (AGC) regulators by performance indices using data from real operation

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2007
Indices to evaluate AGC performance under both simulation and real operation are presented. These indices are based on functional dependence and statistical analysis avoiding large and long periods of data collection necessary for comparison of different regulators in real operation.

An AGC Dynamic Optimization Method Based on Proximal Policy Optimization

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2022
The increasing penetration of renewable energy introduces more uncertainties and creates more fluctuations in power systems than ever before, which brings great challenges for automatic generation control (AGC).

Automatic Generation Control (AGC) operation in a restructured power system under Availability Based Tariff (ABT) mechanism by considering peak hours and off-peak hours [PDF]

open access: yesIndian Journal of Science and Technology, 2020
Objectives: To simulate automatic generation control (AGC) operation in a deregulated power system under availability based tariff (ABT) mechanism to regulate grid frequency during peak and off-peak hours. Method: For the simulation, the two areas, an isolated power system with Area1, which has thermal - hydropower plants with two DISCOs, and Area2 ...

Research on the Automatic Generation Control (AGC) Coordinated Control Modes between Provincial Dispatching and Regional Dispatching in Yunnan Power Grid

open access: yesProcedia Engineering, 2011
AbstractWith the constant expansion of Yunnan power grid, in current dispatching Automatic generation Control (AGC) mode, the use effect of small and medium-sized hydropower resources in the unified dispatching was not ideal. By building zoning control model artificially, the control targets and their coordinated relationship between main area and sub ...

Performance of CSA optimized controllers of DFIGs and AGC to improve frequency regulation of a wind integrated hydrothermal power system

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2019
In the event of availability of wind and hydro power resources in a predominantly thermal power system, the wind power utilization policy may be chosen judiciously so that the frequency regulation capability of the system improves.

BLOC: Buildable and Linkable Organ on a Chip

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
We developed a “Buildable and Linkable Organ on a Chip” (BLOC) that can construct diverse microphysiological systems (MPSs). The BLOC is standardized to the same size and has one of the functions of “Culture,” “Control,” or “Analysis.” Users can freely configure various MPSs, including developing perfusion, cytotoxicity analysis, and biochemical ...

A Particle Swarm Optimization Technique Tuned TID Controller for Frequency and Voltage Regulation with Penetration of Electric Vehicles and Distributed Generations

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
An interconnected power system requires specific restrictions to be maintained for frequency, tie-line power, and the terminal voltage of synchronized generators to avoid instability.

Aberrant SUMOylation Restricts the Targetable Cancer Immunopeptidome

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pharmacological SUMOylation inhibition (SUMOi) counteracts tumor immune evasion by unmasking an immunogenic HLA‐I peptide and neoepitope repertoire. By restoring HLA‐I ligand availability through increased antigen processing and presentation, enhanced proteasomal cleavage, and modulated TAP1 peptide affinity, SUMOi boosts tumor immunogenicity ...

Endocytic Control of Cell‐Autonomous and Non‐Cell‐Autonomous Functions of p53

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NUMB Ex3‐containing isoforms localize to the plasma membrane, where they recruit p53 through SNX9 and direct it to multivesicular bodies and exosomes. Exported p53 is taken up by neighboring cells and activates nuclear programs, revealing an intercellular, exosome‐based pathway that might help establish a tumor‐suppressive microenvironment.

Designing Structure-Dependent MPC-Based AGC Schemes Considering Network Topology

open access: yesEnergies, 2015
This paper presents the important features of structure-dependent model predictive control (MPC)-based approaches for automatic generation control (AGC) considering network topology. Since power systems have various generators under different topologies,
