Automatic spatial planning, i.e. automatic robot planning, is discussed as one of the applications of quotient space theory. We pay attention to how the theory is applied to the problem, and how multi-granular computing can reduce its computational complexity.

Automatic Information Infrastructure Planning
2020 Chinese Automation Congress (CAC), 2020In order to improve the information infrastructure planning efficiency, it’s necessary to develop an intelligent system to realize automatic planning. This work presents a smart planning system which includes three modules: the geographic information recognition module, which is able to identify different categories of land using maps, photos and ...

Automatic synthesis---programs and plans
Proceedings of the annual conference on - ACM 76, 1976This session focuses on the continuing effort to develop automatic techniques for transforming a specification of “what” is to be done into a specification of “how” the “what” is to be done. One presentation deals with programming tasks, where the results of the transformation are executable computer programs.

Automatic Generation of Flexible Plans via Diverse Temporal Planning
Proceedings of the AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2021Robots operating in the real world must deal with uncertainty, be it due to working with humans who are unpredictable, or simply because they must operate in a dynamic environment. Ignoring the uncertainty is dangerous, while accounting for all possible outcomes is often computationally infeasible.

Automatic assembly planning with fasteners
Proceedings, 1989 International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2003The automatic assembly planning with fasteners (AAPF) prototype system is described. Given a model of a product to be manufactured, the AAPF system produces a high-level assembly sequence for producing that product. The model is defined in terms of constructive solid-geometry primitives and nut, bolt, and screw fastener primitives.

An automatic assembly planning system
Proceedings., IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2002An automatic assembly planning system which takes the CAD description of a product as input and automatically generates an assembly plan subject to the resource constraint of a given assembly cell is presented. The system improves the flexibility and productivity of FMSs and is composed of five modules: world database, simulated world model, knowledge ...

Automatic process plan generation in an operative process planning system
International Journal of Production Research, 1994The architecture and design of process planning systems should follow the architecture and design of the manufacturing systems they are intended to serve. This article describes a process planning system specifically intended for a workshop orientated factory, a factory which is specialized for the production of a limited number of group technological ...

Automatic Planning of Ground Traffic
47th AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting including The New Horizons Forum and Aerospace Exposition, 2009Ground traffic optimization is a major issue of air traffic management: optimal ground circulation could decrease flight delays and consequently decrease costs and increase passenger wellness. This paper proposes a planning algorithm for ground traffic based on contract reservation.

Tool Oriented Automatic Process Planning
1983The authors propose an expert system in process planning for machine tools. The present paper focusses on automatic generation of process plans, and touches on applications for them, including estimation of product costs and design of machining systems.
