Variable Load Demand Scheme for Hybrid AC/DC Nanogrid
This paper addresses the use of nanogrid technology in resolving the issue of blanket load shedding for domestic consumers. This is accomplished by using different load management techniques and load classification and utilizing maximum solar energy. The

Accelerating Decarbonization with the California Load Flexibility Research and Deployment Hub [PDF]
As we transition from traditional to variable renewable electricity supply, and electrification increases, it is critical to enable building loads to be flexible in coordination with the grid.

Fuzzy predictive control strategy of permanent magnet linear synchronous motor
In order to solve the problem that the actual current cannot closely follow the given current or the predicted output voltage fluctuates too much due to the unreasonable selection of the weight coefficient when the model predictive control seeks the ...

A Novel Compliant Actuator With Load-Dependent Variable Stiffness: Design Concept and Control
To develop the next generation of high-performance robots capable of working in human environments, it is required that the joint actuators have variable stiffness to achieve both precision motion control and ability of reaction under unexpectedly huge ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Annual shoot growth on apple trees with variable canopy leaf area and crop load in response to LiDAR scanned leaf area to fruit ratio [PDF]
In tree fruit crops, the crop load is one factor that has an influence on the vegetative growth of the trees. However, since trees vary in leaf area and associated fruit bearing capacity, the number of fruit per tree alone is not sufficient to predict ...
