Autonomous motivation in medical education [PDF]
Intrinsic motivation was a reining concept for many years in self-determination theory (SDT) research. Since the last 10 years, the concept of autonomous motivation is used more commonly by some researchers. Autonomous motivation means motivation arising out of genuine interest or personal endorsement or valuing of an activity. Autonomous motivation is

Motivated learning for the development of autonomous systems
A new machine learning approach known as motivated learning (ML) is presented in this work. Motivated learning drives a machine to develop abstract motivations and choose its own goals. ML also provides a self-organizing system that controls a machine's behavior based on competition between dynamically-changing pain signals.

DeepThought: An Architecture for Autonomous Self-motivated Systems
The ability of large language models (LLMs) to engage in credible dialogues with humans, taking into account the training data and the context of the conversation, has raised discussions about their ability to exhibit intrinsic motivations, agency, or even some degree of consciousness.

Autonomous Motivation and Self-Disclosure Intention
Studies that specifically discuss the formation of autonomous motivations of users of social networking services (SNSs) and how such motivation influences SNS user intention to disclose personal location-related information (PLRI) are absent from the literature. Consequently, this study, based on the self-determination theory and the information system

Adaptive Coordination in Autonomous Driving: Motivations and Perspectives
As autonomous cars are entering mainstream, new research directions are opening involving several domains, from hardware design to control systems, from energy efficiency to computer vision. An exciting direction of research is represented by the coordination of the different vehicles, moving the focus from the single one to a collective system.
