The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

New Class of Estimators for Finite Population Mean Under Stratified Double Phase Sampling with Simulation and Real-Life Application

open access: yesMathematics
Sampling survey data can sometimes contain outlier observations. When the mean estimator becomes skewed due to the presence of extreme values in the sample, results can be biased. The tendency to remove outliers from sample data is common.

A New Control Chart for Monitoring the Process Mean Using Successive Sampling and Multiple Dependent State Repetitive Sampling

open access: yesTechnologies, 2018
In this paper, a new control chart scheme has been developed for monitoring the production process mean using successive sampling over two occasions. The proposed chart reduces to three different existing control charts under different assumptions and is

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

On Phase-I Monitoring of Process Location Parameter with Auxiliary Information-Based Median Control Charts

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
A control chart is often used to monitor the industrial or services processes to improve the quality of the products. Mostly, the monitoring of location parameters, both in Phase I and Phase II, is done using a mean control chart with the assumption that

Improving the geometric fidelity of imaging systems employing sensor arrays [PDF]

open access: yes
A sensor assembly to be carried on an aircraft or spacecraft which will travel along an arbitrary flight path, for providing an image of terrain over which the craft travels, is disclosed.

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Bounding and Estimating the Classical Information Rate of Quantum Channels with Memory

open access: yes, 2020
We consider the scenario of classical communication over a finite-dimensional quantum channel with memory using a separable-state input ensemble and local output measurements.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

An Improved Reversible Image Transformation Using K-Means Clustering and Block Patching

open access: yesInformation, 2019
Recently, reversible image transformation (RIT) technology has attracted considerable attention because it is able not only to generate stego-images that look similar to target images of the same size, but also to recover the secret image losslessly ...
