TaWUS‐like‐5D affects grain weight and filling by inhibiting the expression of sucrose and trehalose metabolism‐related genes in wheat grain endosperm

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
Summary Plant‐specific WUSCHEL‐related homeobox (Wox) transcription factors (TFs) are crucial for plant growth and development. However, the molecular mechanism of Wox‐mediated regulation of thousand kernel weight (TKW) in crops remains elusive. In this research, we identified a major TKW‐associated quantitative trait locus (QTL) on wheat chromosome ...

Integrative analyses reveal Bna‐miR397a–BnaLAC2 as a potential modulator of low‐temperature adaptability in Brassica napus L.

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
Summary Brassica napus L. (B. napus) is a major edible oil crop grown around the southern part of China, which often faces cold stress, posing potential damage to vegetative tissues. To sustain growth and reproduction, a detailed understanding of fundamental regulatory processes in B. napus against long‐term low temperature (LT) stress is necessary for

Endogenous auxin maintains embryonic cell identity and promotes somatic embryo development in Arabidopsis

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 113, Issue 1, Page 7-22, January 2023., 2023
SUMMARY Somatic embryogenesis (SE), or embryo development from in vitro cultured vegetative explants, can be induced in Arabidopsis by the synthetic auxin 2,4‐dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4‐D) or by overexpression of specific transcription factors, such as AT‐HOOK MOTIF NUCLEAR LOCALIZED 15 (AHL15).

Gibberellin signalling mediates nucleocytoplasmic trafficking of Sucrose Synthase 1 to regulate the drought tolerance in rice

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
Summary The Green Revolution (GR) has substantially improved cereal crop yields and enhanced adaptation to diverse environmental challenges. However, the molecular and cellular mechanisms involving GR‐related genes that regulate drought tolerance in plants remain largely unclear.

AP2S1 regulates APP degradation through late endosome–lysosome fusion in cells and APP/PS1 mice

open access: yesTraffic, Volume 24, Issue 1, Page 20-33, January 2023., 2023
Fission events at endo‐lyso interface could be favored in the presence of AP2S1, which is reminiscent of membrane fission during endocytosis. In contrast, lack of AP2S1 may inhibit this process, and alternatively facilitate endo‐lyso fusion and content exchange, leading to lysosomal degradation of APP.
