Electrochemical and spectroscopic study of l-dopa interaction with avarol
Reaction Kinetics, Mechanisms and Catalysis, 2019The electrochemistry of catecholamine neurotransmitters and their precursor l-dopa has been widely studied due to their relevance as biologically important compounds. The detection of these compounds from aqueous solution is hindered by the coexistence of quinone or hydroquinone. However, it was suggested that quinones adsorbed on the electrode surface

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2007
Semisynthesis of 13 new thio avarol derivatives (4-16) and in vitro evaluation on the photodamage response induced by UVB irradiation are described. Their ability to inhibit NF-kappaB activation and TNF-alpha generation in HaCaT cells as well as their antioxidant capacity in human neutrophils has also been studied.

Cell Biological Aspects of HIV-1 Infection: Effect of the Anti-HIV-1 Agent Avarol
International Journal of Sports Medicine, 1991HTLV-I, II, HIV-1, 2 and other retroviruses possess genes for the transcriptional activators, tax and tat, the expression of which is closely related with the pathogenesis of leukemia and human immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and induced by the virus infection.
