Average channel capacity of composite κ-μ/gamma fading channels
China Communications, 2013A new analytical expression is presented for the instantaneous power Probability Density Function (PDF) of receiver signals over composite κ-μ/gamma fading channels. Moreover, the exact expression of channel capacity is derived in the form of an infinite series, while an accurate approximation expression is obtained in closed form.

Average channel capacity analysis of BDF relaying over alpha-mu fading channels
2015 International Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing Conference (IWCMC), 2015Average channel capacity for the bit-detect-and-forward (BDF) cooperative protocol over α-μ fading channels is analyzed. Novel closed-form approximate ergodic capacity expression is here obtained for a 3-way free-space optical (FSO) communication setup when the irradiance of the transmitted optical beam here considered is susceptible to moderate-to ...

The capacity of average power constrained additive non-Gaussian noise channels
2012 19th International Conference on Telecommunications (ICT), 2012It is well known that a Gaussian input achieves the capacity of the linear additive white Gaussian noise channel under the average power constraint. While the continuity of an optimal input of a continuous channel might be expected, the Gaussian noise presents the only such scenario. In fact, we study in this paper the capacity-achieving inputs for the

On the capacity of the Gaussian mixture channel under average and peak power constraints
2015 22nd International Conference on Telecommunications (ICT), 2015In many communications systems, the Gaussian mixture model is extensively used to characterize non-Gaussian man-made and natural interference. We study the capacity of the Gaussian mixture noise channel and its capacity-achieving input. In particular, we consider the symmetric and asymmetric Gaussian mixture noise cases. It is shown that, under average

On the Average Secrecy Capacity for FSO Wiretap Channels with Nonzero Boresight Pointing Errors
2018 IEEE 88th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC-Fall), 2018Today, free-space optical (FSO) communication in the presence of an eavesdropper is considered as an important topic in the current literature. In this paper, security issues are investigated for FSO wiretap channels. Novel closed-form solutions, both approximate and asymptotic, for the average secrecy capacity (ASC) are derived over gamma-gamma (GG ...

Selective attention, channel capacity, and the Average Evoked Response in human subjects
Neuropsychologia, 1979Abstract Traditional studies of selective attention and the Average Evoked Response (AER) have employed naive subjects who performed non-verbal tasks designed to capture attention. The performance of highly trained subjects on a shadowing task, which is verbal in nature, reveals striking effects on the auditory AER which differ from those findings ...

Effect of Channel Correlation and Path Loss on Average Channel Capacity of Body-to-Body Systems
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2013The channel capacity in body channels is of great importance since it determines the amount and type of data that can be transmitted using the body as a media for communication. In this communication, the average capacity of body-to-body channels, where the transmitter and the receiver are on different human bodies, is investigated in an indoor ...
