Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Fast High-Order Consensus Time Synchronization Protocol in Industrial Wireless Sensor Networks
Slow convergence remains a critical limitation hindering the practical deployment of consensus-based time synchronization protocols (CTSPs). Increasing algebraic connectivity is a key mechanism for improving the convergence speed of distributed ...

Global Consensus Recommendations on Improving the Safety of Chronic Total Occlusion Interventions [PDF]
Safety is of critical importance to chronic total occlusion (CTO) percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). This global consensus statement provides guidance on how to optimise the safety of CTO) PCI, addressing the following 12 areas: 1. Set-up for safe

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

Integral-Type Event-Triggered Average Consensus over Jointly Connected Topologies
In this paper, a class of distributed event-triggered (ET) control strategy is proposed to address the average consensus problem for multi-agent systems (MAS).

The Distributed Convergence Classifier Using the Finite Difference [PDF]
The paper presents a novel distributed classifier of the convergence, which allows to detect the convergence/the divergence of a distributed converging algorithm.

Scalable Average Consensus with Compressed Communications
We propose a new decentralized average consensus algorithm with compressed communication that scales linearly with the network size n. We prove that the proposed method converges to the average of the initial values held locally by the agents of a network when agents are allowed to communicate with compressed messages.

Structure‐forward targeting of claudins with synthetic binders
Claudins form the paracellular barriers between epithelial and endothelial tissues at tight junctions and are targets for molecular binders with the goal of modulating barrier permeability. Claudin‐binding molecules are relevant in drug delivery or in altering claudin interactions with disease‐causing proteins.

We present an algorithm for nonlinear consensus in complex networks. Our motivation draws from analysis on the algorithm based on a weighted linear update protocol. Comparison of the asymptotic with early convergence rate encourages an alternative algorithm which exploits both stages.

The microbiome in human skin aging
Age‐related skin changes encompass the well‐known visible phenotypic alterations, together with microbiome dysbiosis and a series of molecular aging hallmarks. These hallmarks characterize not only a fully stablished aged phenotype but also the skin aging process itself.
