Improving A*OMP: Theoretical and Empirical Analyses With a Novel Dynamic Cost Model

open access: yes, 2015
Best-first search has been recently utilized for compressed sensing (CS) by the A* orthogonal matching pursuit (A*OMP) algorithm. In this work, we concentrate on theoretical and empirical analyses of A*OMP. We present a restricted isometry property (RIP)

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

The Effect of Sample Size On (Cusum and ARIMA) Control Charts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The purpose of this paper is to study Statistical Process Control (SPC) with a cumulative sum CUSUM chart which shows the total of deviations, of successive samples from the target value and the Average Run Length (ARL) is given quality level is the ...

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

On designing a sequential based EWMA structure for efficient process monitoring

open access: yesJournal of Taibah University for Science, 2020
Control chart is a popular technique that is widely used in statistical process control to identify any possible deviations from a stable state of a process. Shewhart charts are famous for identifying larger shifts, while cumulative sum and exponentially

Efficient signed-rank based EWMA and HWMA repetitive control charts for monitoring process mean with and without auxiliary information

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Control charts are powerful tools to observe the presentation of the manufacturing process. Mostly, when the data in industries come from the process may follow non-normal or unknown distributions.

Run Generation Revisited: What Goes Up May or May Not Come Down

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper, we revisit the classic problem of run generation. Run generation is the first phase of external-memory sorting, where the objective is to scan through the data, reorder elements using a small buffer of size M , and output runs ...

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.
