On Conservative Averaging Method in Spline Applications

open access: yesСовременные информационные технологии и IT-образование, 2020
We consider the conservative averaging method for solving the 3-D boundary-value problem of second order in multilayer domain. Looking back to the history of mathematics, integral parabolic splines relates to conservative averaging method (CAM ...

A method to average immunofluorescent histograms [PDF]

open access: yesCytometry, 1986
AbstractSingle parameter gated flow cytometric fluorescent histograms were obtained on normal donor blood mononuclear cells using several commonly available lymphocyte surface markers. A computer method was developed to average single parameter flow cytometric immunofluorescent histograms.

On mathematical modelling of the solid-liquid mixtures transport in porous axial-symmetrical container with Henry and Langmuir sorption kinetics

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2018
In this paper we study diffusion and convection filtration problem of one substance through the pores of a porous material which may absorb and immobilize some of the diffusing substances.

Optimal stabilization of small spacecraft angular motion in the process of deployment of an orbital tether system

open access: yesВестник Самарского университета: Аэрокосмическая техника, технологии и машиностроение, 2016
The problem of stabilizing the motion of small spacecraft relative to the center of mass in the process of deploying an orbital tether system is presented in the paper.

Coupled Double Closed-Loop Control for an MEMS Resonant Accelerometer

open access: yesMicromachines, 2022
There is mutual coupling between amplitude control and frequency tracking control in the closed-loop control of micromechanical resonant sensors, which restricts sensor performance.

The average method is much better than average

open access: yesJournal of Computational and Applied Mechanics, 2021
Operator splitting is a powerful method for the numerical investigation of complex time-dependent models, where the stationary (elliptic) part consists of a sum of several structurally simpler sub-operators. As an alternative to the classical splitting methods, a new splitting scheme is proposed here, the Average Method with sequential splitting.

The Second Approximation of the Averaging Method in the Dynamics of Controlled Motions of Vibration Systems with Dry Friction

open access: yesAxioms
The second approximation of the averaging method is constructed in the problem of motion along a horizontal rough plane of a vibration-driven mechanical system consisting of a carrying body (robot housing) in contact with the plane and two internal ...

Primary Resonance Analysis of High-Static–Low-Dynamic Stiffness Isolators with Piecewise Stiffness, Viscous Damping, and Dry Friction

open access: yesApplied Sciences
High-Static–Low-Dynamic Stiffness (HSLDS) isolators have been extensively studied, primarily considering continuous stiffness and viscous damping, often overlooking stiffness discontinuities and dry friction forces.

The Whitham Modulation Solution of the Complex Modified KdV Equation

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
This paper primarily concerns the Whitham modulation equation of the complex modified Korteweg–de Vries (cmKdV) equation with a step-like initial value. By utilizing the Lax pair, we derive the N-genus Whitham equations via the averaging method.

Comparison of the method of averages with the method of least squares. [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 1968
It is shown that the computationally simple method of averages can yield a surprisingly good solution of an overdetermined system of linear equations, provided that the grouping of the equations is done in an appropriate way. The notion of angle between linear subspaces is applied in a general comparison of this method and the method of least squares ...
