Two‐dimensional ZnO microplatelets exhibited good ultraviolet radiation (UVR) absorption and a band gap energy of 3.2 eV, comparable to commercial ZnO. Sunscreen formulations containing ZnO microplatelets had photoprotection factors similar to formulations containing commercial ZnO.

The aim of our study was to compare the larval performance and adult preference of a highly generalist species, Bactrocera tryoni, and a highly specialist species, B. umbrosa.
