Avian infectious bronchitis virus characteristics of an inhibitor found in serum

Archiv fr die gesamte Virusforschung, 1973
An inhibitor of IBV attachment was demonstrated in bovine, swine, chicken and rabbit serum. The inhibitor found in bovine serum was associated with the gamma globulin fraction. The bovine inhibitor was a heterogeneous macromolecule with its sizes ranging from the 7 S to the 19 S globulins as characterized by ratezonal centrifugation and gel filtration.

Chemical Characterization of Avian Infectious Bronchitis Virus Receptor Sites

American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1972
SUMMARY The attachment of avian infectious bronchitis virus (ibv) to chicken embryo kidney (cek) cell monolayers was inhibited by sulfhydryl (SH) compounds such as l-cysteine, reduced glutathione, 1,4-dithiothreitol (dtt), and 2-mercaptoethanol (2-me).
