Females Fly Further—Sex‐Specific and Seasonal Differences in Migration Patterns of Pied Avocets

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
GPS tracking of 122 pied avocets revealed pronounced sex‐ and season‐specific migration strategies, with females migrating further than males, while spring migration was faster and more fragmented than autumn migration.
