Mutational and transcriptional analyses of an avian pathogenic Escherichia coli ColV plasmid [PDF]
Abstract Background Previously we described a 184-kb ColV plasmid, pAPEC-O2-ColV, that contributed to the ability of an E. coli to kill avian embryos, grow in human urine, and colonize the murine kidney. Here, the roles of several genes encoded by this plasmid in virulence were assessed using mutational and ...

Extended-Spectrum Beta-Lactamase Producing Strains of Escherichia Coli Isolated from Avian Cellulitis Lesions [PDF]
Avian cellulitis causes significant losses to the poultry industry. Avian-pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) is the etiological agent of that disease. This microorganism has zoonotic potential and may act as reservoir of antimicrobial-resistance genes ...

In vitro antibiofilm activity of resveratrol against avian pathogenic Escherichia coli
Background Avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) strains cause infectious diseases in poultry. Resveratrol is extracted from Polygonum cuspidatum, Cassia tora Linn and Vitis vinifera, and displays good antimicrobial activity.

NGPV VP2 is expressed made DEV as vector and experessed NGPV VP2 could form virus‐like particles. rNGPV VP2‐Cre could facilitate clearance of NGPV and provided strong protection against highly virulent DEV. ABSTRACT Since 2015, duck‐origin novel goose parvovirus (NGPV) has caused severe economic losses to the Chinese duck industry, with no licensed ...

Screening of ESBL‐, pAmpC‐ and carbapenemase‐producing Escherichia coli among Swedish wildlife demonstrated a low occurrence of antibiotic resistance in wild animals. Only two ESBL/pAmpC‐producers were detected in red foxes originating from highly populated areas.
