Quantum anomaly of the transverse Ward-Takahashi relation for the axial-vector vertex [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We study the possible quantum anomaly for the transverse Ward-Takahashi relations in four dimensional gauge theories based on the method of computing the axial-vector and the vector current operator equations.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Axial Vector $Z'$ and Anomaly Cancellation

open access: yes, 2017
Whilst the prospect of new $Z'$ gauge bosons with only axial couplings to the Standard Model (SM) fermions is widely discussed, examples of anomaly-free renormalisable models are lacking in the literature.

The Axial Double Probe and Fields Signal Processing for the MMS Mission

open access: yes, 2016
The Axial Double Probe (ADP) instrument measures the DC to ∼100 kHz electric field along the spin axis of the Magnetospheric Multiscale (MMS) spacecraft (Burch et al., Space Sci. Rev., 2014, this issue), completing the vector electric field when combined

Intrathoracic Axial Osteosarcoma

open access: yesActa Scientiae Veterinariae, 2018
Background: Bone tumors have a challenging diagnosis and treatment. Osteosarcoma is the name given to a heterogeneous group of malignant, agressive and invasive tumors that often determine bone lysis. Almost all of the animals develop lung metastases, progressing to death.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Circumventing the axial anomalies and the strong CP problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Many meson processes are related to the U_A(1) axial anomaly, present in the Feynman graphs where fermion loops connect axial vertices with vector vertices.

Pushing the limits of magnetic anisotropy in trigonal bipyramidal Ni(II) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Monometallic complexes based on 3d transition metal ions in certain axial coordination environments can exhibit appreciably enhanced magnetic anisotropy, important for memory applications, due to stabilisation of an unquenched orbital moment.

Gender Differences in Axial Spondyloarthritis: Women Are Not So Lucky

open access: yesCurrent Rheumatology Reports, 2018
Purpose of ReviewAnkylosing spondylitis (AS) was historically seen as a predominantly male disease. However, more recent data showed a more homogenous sex prevalence.
