Variable-Speed Propeller Turbine for Small Hydropower Applications
Standard technical solutions are not cost-effective for many small hydropower sites. This study aims to demonstrate the workflow for the tailor-made variable-speed axial propeller turbine and provide proof of this concept. The turbine is designed to meet

Numerical Investigation of the Hub-Seal Mass Flow Rate Effect on the Axial Turbine Stage Efficiency [PDF]
The contribution deals with numerical simulation of compressible flow through the axial turbine stage equipped with the hub-seal. The current flowing from the hub-seal has a major impact on the secondary flow in the hub-region of the blade span.

The reasonable application of supercritical carbon dioxide(S-CO2) power cycle systems to unmanned undersea vehicles(UUVs) can help address the problem of low efficiency for the existing UUV steam power cycle systems, especially for small-power ...

Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.
