Identification of Dynamic Vehicular Axle Loads: Theory and Simulations
Journal of Vibration and Control, 2010This paper presents a new method of identifying dynamic vehicular axle loads by directly using bridge measurements. To demonstrate how the proposed methodology works out, vehicle-bridge coupling equations are first established for numerical simulations. The developed vehicle-bridge coupled system contains only the modal properties of the bridge and the

Loads Simplification on Multi Input Axle Systems
SAE International Journal of Advances and Current Practices in Mobility, 2020<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">The time domain is currently the most widely chosen option in fatigue testing to fully represent random events occurring in multiple simultaneous input channels. In vehicles for example, time domain tests can represent the same conditions of the road, by applying the same loads ...

Total axle load effects on soil compaction
Journal of Terramechanics, 1987Abstract Theoretical and applied research has shown that the pressure at a point in the subsurface soil is a function of both the surface unit pressure and the extent of the area over which it is applied (total load). Thirty years ago, most of the soil compaction from vehicle traffic was in the plow layer and was removed by normal cultural practices.

Axle Load Power for Pavement Fatigue Cracking
Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2011Deterioration equivalence factors are an essential part of deterioration models used in pavement management systems. For accurate cost estimation, it is important to determine the correct axle load power. The data set from the AASHO Road Test was used to estimate a hazard rate function.

Axle Spacing and Load Equivalency Factors
Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 1999Weigh-in-motion (WIM) systems measure the axle spacings and axle loads for every vehicle in the traffic stream. There is a great need to estimate load equivalency factors (LEFs) from these WIM data. LEFs are approximately a fourth-power relation relative to a standard axle load. However, this ignores axle spacings, which have a significant effect.

High Axle Load Compaction and Corn Yield
Transactions of the ASAE, 1985ABSTRACT AN experiment was set up to study the effect of high axle loads on subsoil compaction and corn production in two soil textures. Treatments of 10 and 20 t/axle were applied at two soil moisture contents. Resulting changes in soil physical characteristics as compared to a control were measured to a depth of 0.60 m.

Summary Many farm vehicles have high weights and axle loads. Unless the ground contact pressure is extremely low, this leads to high stresses and detrimental compaction in deep subsoil layers. Repeated passes cause cumulative effects. Subsoil compaction is very persistent, maybe permanent, and loosening can only partly alleviate the effects. In field

Identification of Multi-Axle Vehicle Loads on Bridges
Journal of Vibration and Acoustics, 2004Both the time domain method (TDM) and frequency-time domain method (FTDM) are introduced and modified for the indirect identification of multi-axle vehicle loads from the bending moment responses of bridges. Two solutions to the over-determined set of equation involved in the identification methods are adopted.

ANALYSIS OF TRACTOR TRANSMISSION AND DRIVING AXLE LOADS
Transactions of the ASAE, 2001This study was intended to analyze the loads acting on the transmission and driving axle of an agricultural tractor during plowing operations in Korea. Before the load measurements were made, a survey was conducted to investigate the operational characteristics of plowing by tractors in Korea.
