A study of induced metamorphosis in the Axolotl
Journal of Experimental Zoology, 1965AbstractMetamorphic changes occurred in dark and white Mexican axolotls injected with 3,3′,5‐triiodo‐L‐thyronine (T3) or DL‐thyroxine (T4), when exposed at the following ages (in days) after spawning: 3–8, 45, 62, 117, 521–541, 541‐571, at 20°C. The dosage of the hormone administered as a single injection varied from 10 μg to 100 μg. Optimum conditions

Electrosensory activity in the telencephalon of the axolotl
Neuroscience Letters, 1989Electrical shock of the anterior lateral line nerve evokes slow wave potentials in the contralateral corpus striatum and bilaterally in the medial pallium of the telencephalon of axolotls. The onset latency of the evoked response in the medial pallium (70 ms) is considerably longer than that of the corpus striatum (46 ms).

2015The ability to introduce DNA elements into host cells and analyze the effects has revolutionized modern biology. Here we describe a protocol to generate Moloney murine leukemia virus (MMLV)-based, replication-incompetent pseudotyped retrovirus capable of infecting axolotls and incorporating genetic information into their genome.
