Structure investigations of binary azeotrope of diethyl amine-acetone by FT-IR and H-1 NMR spectroscopy

open access: yes, 2009
The article shows results of FT-IR and 1H NMR study for azeotrope diethyl amine–acetone. Changes in chemical shifts and vibrational frequencies for pure diethyl amine, pure acetone and their azeotrope were obtained.

Novel approach to predict the azeotropy at any pressure using classification by subgroups [PDF]

open access: yesSongklanakarin Journal of Science and Technology (SJST), 2012
Distillation is one of the dominating separation processes, but there are some problems as inseparable mixtures areformed in some cases. This phenomenon is called as azeotropy.

Properties of gasoline-ethanol-methanol ternary fuel blend compared with ethanol-gasoline and methanol-gasoline fuel blends

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Petroleum, 2019
Two binary sets of gasoline-methanol (GM) and gasoline-ethanol (GE) blends along with two other ternary sets of gasoline-methanol-ethanol (GME) blends were formulated comprising single and dual alcohol.

Vapor Liquid Equilibrium Measurement and Distillation Simulation for Azeotropic Distillation Separation of H2O/EM Azeotrope

open access: yesSeparations
Since H2O and Ethylene Glycol Monomethyl Ether (EM) form a minimum-boiling azeotrope, 1-pentanol, 1-hexanol, and 1-heptanol are selected as entrainers to separate the azeotropic mixture (H2O/EM) using azeotropic distillation.

Separation of Alcohol-Ester Binary Mixtures by Pervaporation

open access: yesEurasian Chemico-Technological Journal, 1999
In this study, the pervaporation behavior of azeotrope forming methanol-methyl acetate and ethanol-ethyl acetate binary mixtures at different compositions was investigated at 30 and 45 °C using PE-based films having different thickness, compositions and

Pervaporation dehydration of ethyl acetate/ethanol/water azeotrope using chitosan/poly (vinyl pyrrolidone) blend membranes

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper, chitosan (CS)/poly (vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) blend membranes crosslinked by glutaraldehyde (GA) were prepared for the separation of ethyl acetate/ethanol/water azeotrope by pervaporation (PV).

The Methanol-Trimethoxyborane Azeotrope as a Solvent [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977
The methanol-trimethoxyborane azeotrope is an ea.sily prepa. red solvent of strong H-bond donor and weak H-bond acceptor properties. It has a low viscosity and low boiling point, and is completely transparent in the visible and uv at wave lengths ...

Ionic-Liquid Based Separation of Azeotropic Mixtures

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2014
A methodology for the screening of ionic liquids (ILs) as entrainers for ILs-based separation processes in binary aqueous azeotropic systems (e.g., water + ethanol and water + isopropanol) is presented.

Infinite/infinite analysis as a tool for an early oriented synthesis of a reactive pressure swing distillation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The study contributes to the characterization of an original reactive pressure swing distillation system. The methyl acetate (MeAc) transesterification with ethanol (EtOH) to produce methanol (MeOH) and ethyl acetate (EtAc) is shown as illustrative ...
