Active Transport of Macrocycles into Micelles Using Molecular Pumps

Artificial molecular pumps attached to polymeric micelles were found capable of transporting charged macrocycles into the micelles. Der Artikel stellt die ersten bifunktionellen Etherlipide vor, die für Vergleichsstudien zum Lipidtransport in Säugetierzellen verwendet wurden. Die Studie zeigt eine eindeutige Unterscheidung von Alkylether‐ und Vinyletherlipiden (Plasmalogenen) durch Lipidtransferproteine, was auf unterschiedliche funktionelle Rollen in Zellen hindeutet.

Silylative Amide to Nitrile Conversion Mediated by Simple Lanthanide–Organoamides: Scope and Mechanism

Described here is a LaNTMS mediated silylative conversion of primary amides to nitriles under neat reaction conditions. The reaction is highly efficient and selective under such solventless conditions, where all materials are commercially available, demonstrating the robustness and potential of lanthanide heteroatom catalysis.
