Unraveling the CP phase of top-Higgs coupling in associated production at the LHC

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2016
We study the sensitivity of top polarization observables to the CP phase ζt in the top Yukawa coupling in the process pp→thj at the 14 TeV high-luminosity run of the Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC).

Analyzing the Data from X-ray Polarimeters with Stokes Parameters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
X-ray polarimetry promises to deliver unique information about the geometry of the inner accretion flow of astrophysical black holes and the nature of matter and electromagnetism in and around neutron stars.

Controlling the polarization singularities of the focused azimuthally polarized beams

open access: yesOptics Express, 2013
We mainly investigate the polarization singularities of the focused azimuthally polarized (AP) beams modulated by spiral phase and sector obstacles. The results reveal that either the spiral phase or sector obstacle can convert the central V-point to C-points, C-point dipoles, or even double V-points under certain conditions.

How to measure the linear polarization of gluons in unpolarized proton using the heavy-quark pair leptoproduction

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2018
We study the azimuthal cos⁡φ and cos⁡2φ asymmetries in heavy-quark pair leptoproduction, lN→l′QQ¯X, as probes of linearly polarized gluons inside unpolarized proton, where the azimuth φ is the angle between the lepton scattering plane (l,l′) and the ...

Observations of the Horizontally Oriented Crystalline Particles with a Scanning Polarization Lidar [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2020
Scanning lidar LOSA-M3 makes it possible to measure the polarization characteristics of backscattering signals from aerosol and clouds at wavelength 532 and 1064 nm.

Singularities in Speckled Speckle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Speckle patterns produced by random optical fields with two (or more) widely different correlation lengths exhibit speckle spots that are themselves highly speckled.

Polarization conversion when focusing cylindrically polarized vortex beams

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2016
Currently, cylindrical beams with radial or azimuthal polarization are being used successfully for the optical manipulation of micro- and nano-particles as well as in microscopy, lithography, nonlinear optics, materials processing, and telecommunication ...

Azimuthal distinguishability of entangled photons generated in spontaneous parametric down-conversion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We experimentally demonstrate that paired photons generated in different sections of a down-conversion cone, when some of the interacting waves show Poynting vector walk-off, carry different spatial correlations, and therefore a different degree of ...

Search for polarization from the prompt gamma-ray emission of GRB 041219a with SPI on INTEGRAL [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Measuring the polarization of the prompt γ-ray emission from gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) can significantly improve our understanding of both the GRB emission mechanisms as well as the underlying engine driving the explosion.

Flows and polarization of early photons with magnetic field at strong coupling

open access: yes, 2013
Recent experimental results from RHIC and LHC on hard photon emission rates in heavy-ion collisions indicate a large azimuthal asymmetry of photon emission rate parameterized by the elliptic flow v_2.
