Coproporphyrin excretion by Azorhizobium caulinodans under micro-aerobic conditions

Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, 1998
Azorhizobium caulinodans ORS571 was found to excrete moderate amounts of a fluorescent pigment into the culture medium in response to dissolved oxygen tensions below 1.0 kPa. The pigment was identified as coproporphyrin, on the basis of its optical and fluorescence spectra.

Structure of lipid A from a stem-nodulating bacterium Azorhizobium caulinodans

Carbohydrate Research, 2012
The structure of the lipid A of the lipopolysaccharide (LPS) from Azorhizobium caulinodans, a symbiont of the tropical legume Sesbania rostrata, was investigated by chemical compositional analyses, mass spectrometry, as well as 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy techniques.

Nod Factor Production by Azorhizobium Caulinodans Strain ORS571

1993
Azorhizobium caulinodans strain ORS571 is a Gram-negative bacterium, related to Xanthobacter and more distantly to Bradyrhizobium (Dreyfus et al., 1988); it is a symbiont of the tropical legume Sesbania rostrata on which it induces nodules at predetermined sites: at the bases of lateral roots and at the dormant root primordia that are present on the S.

Characterization of Azorhizobium caulinodans glnB and glnZ Genes

1998
Azorhizobium caulinodans fixes nitrogen both at the free-living state and in symbiosis with Sesbania rostrata. At the free-living state, these bacteria are able to grow at the expense of fixed-nitrogen, while in symbiosis, all the fixed-nitrogen is exported to the plant cell.

pMH11, a Tool for Gene Disruption and Expression Analysis in Azorhizobium caulinodans

Plasmid, 2002
Tools for mutagenesis and expression analyses are needed to study the role of bacterial genes. Here, we report the construction of pMH11, a small, mobilizable plasmid that replicates in Escherichia coli, but not in Azorhizobium caulinodans, a nodulating microsymbiont of Sesbania rostrata, and that contains a unique BamHI restriction site upstream of a ...
