EFFECT OF NITROGEN FIXING ASSOCIATIVE DIAZOTROPHS ENCAPSULATED IN ALGINATE OR FREE CELL SYSTEMS INOCULATION ON SEED GERMINATION AND GROWTH OP SOME VEGETABLE PLANTS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Chemistry and Biotechnology, 2005
A laboratory experiment was carried out to study the effect of inoculation with some non-symbiotic nitrogen fixing diazotrophs (Azospirillum liopferum, Azospirillum brasilense, Azotobacter chroococcum) in addition to Bacillus polymyxa either each in free

Microbial Inoculation Strategies for Optimal Cherry Tomato Production

open access: yesPhysiologia Plantarum, Volume 177, Issue 6, November/December 2025.
ABSTRACT The use of microorganisms is a promising technique in agriculture to provide greater water and nutrient efficiency for crops. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of microbial inoculation on plant growth, fruit yield and fruit quality of cherry tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum var. cerasiforme) in a protected environment.

Strategies for Enhancing Resilience in Horticultural Crops Against Combined Abiotic Stresses

open access: yesPhysiologia Plantarum, Volume 177, Issue 5, September/October 2025.
ABSTRACT Horticultural crops are increasingly exposed to simultaneous abiotic stresses such as drought, salinity, and temperature extremes, which often exacerbate each other's effects, leading to severe yield and quality losses. Addressing these multifaceted challenges necessitates the development and application of integrated and innovative strategies.

Amino Acids From Root Exudates Induce Bacillus Spore Germination to Enhance Root Colonisation and Plant Growth Promotion

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 18, Issue 6, June 2025.
Amino acids in cucumber root exudates trigger Bacillus spore germination via GerA, enhancing root colonisation and plant growth. This study reveals key germinators and receptors, advancing targeted biofertiliser applications for improved agricultural sustainability.

Enhancing polyamide fabric performance through green reduction of graphene oxide for superior ultraviolet protection and electrical conductivity

open access: yesColoration Technology, Volume 141, Issue 1, Page 26-43, February 2025.
Abstract In this study, a polyamide warp‐knitted fabric was treated with a graphene oxide (GO) aqueous dispersion using a laboratory‐type Jigger dyeing machine. Subsequently, the GO underwent a chemical reduction process, employing rosehip extract powder as a nature‐based reducing agent. The effect of reduction time (12 and 24 h) was investigated.

Soil inoculation with nitrogen‐fixing bacteria to supplement maize fertilizer need

open access: yesAgronomy Journal, Volume 117, Issue 1, January/February 2025.
Abstract Nitrogen (N) is an essential plant nutrient, but low and variable plant‐available N levels in agricultural soils often limit maximum grain production. The objective of this study was to determine if a free‐living nitrogen‐fixing bacterial inoculant (NFI) could supply biologically‐fixed N as an additional N source and if this enhances maize ...

Efficacy of Organic Soil Conditioners for Barley (Hordeum vulgare) Production in Arid Regions

open access: yesApplied and Environmental Soil Science, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Introduction Barley cultivation in arid regions can be enhanced through deficit irrigation, which reduces water usage while minimizing yield loss. This method maximizes water‐use efficiency, making barley suitable for areas with limited water resources. Objective. To evaluate the effects of different soil amendments on improving barley production under

Impacts of Azotobacter Inoculation on Hybrid Maize Growth and Yield in Midhill of Lamjung, Nepal

open access: yesInternational Journal of Agronomy, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
In recent times, the need for the replacement of chemical‐based nitrogen fertilizers has arisen due to various economic, soil sustainability, and availability issues. Thus, the use of biological nitrogen fixation microbes as biofertilizers has gained prominence. A field experiment was conducted in Lamjung campus to assess the efficacy of Azotobacter as
