Bioremediation of Olive Mill Wastewater Using Free and Immobilized Pseudomonas aeruginosa: Efficiency and Phytotoxicity Assessment

open access: yesWater and Environment Journal, EarlyView.
The graphical abstract compares the bioremediation performance of olive mill wastewater using P. aeruginosa immobilized in agar beads and fixed on activated carbon. Both systems effectively reduced chemical oxygen demand (COD), phenols, colour, phosphorus and lipids.

Bacillus amyloliquefaciens — Production Host for Industrial Enzymes

open access: yes, 2000
Bacillus amyloliquefaciens is a widely used host for production of industrial enzymes (Aunstrup et al. 1979). However, the species does not become physiologically competent for DNA transformation, unlike the related species B. subtilis.

Simultaneous and sequential based co-fermentations of Trichoderma asperellum GDFS1009 and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens 1841: a strategy to enhance the gene expression and metabolites to improve the bio-control and plant growth promoting activity

open access: yesMicrobial Cell Factories, 2019
Background The consequence of simultaneous and sequential inoculation of T. asperellum and B. amyloliquefaciens cultures with respect to growth rate, differential expression of vital genes and metabolites were examined.

Root and shoot phenotyping elucidate plant growth‐promoting microorganisms effects on wheat under water deficit

open access: yesThe Plant Phenome Journal, Volume 9, Issue 1, December 2026.
Abstract Water scarcity represents a major constraint to crop productivity, increasing interest in sustainable strategies such as plant growth‐promoting microorganisms (PGPM). This study investigated the effects of a commercial PGPM consortium, composed of four Bacillus spp.

Comprehensive Evaluation of Gastrointestinal Factors Influencing the Stability and Function of mRNA‐Encapsulated Lipid Nanoparticles

open access: yesDrug Development Research, Volume 87, Issue 7, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Owing to the intrinsic instability of mRNA, its routes of administration are limited, and to date, only injectable delivery has been clinically applied. In contrast, oral administration exposes mRNA to a variety of substances in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract.

High-level heat resistance of spores of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens and Bacillus licheniformis results from the presence of a spoVA operon in a Tn1546 transposon.

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2016
Bacterial endospore formers can produce spores that are resistant to many food processing conditions, including heat. Some spores may survive heating processes aimed at production of commercially sterile foods. Recently, it was shown that a spoVA operon,

Solid‐State Fermentation of Legumes: Multi‐Scale Structural Modifications to Unlock Techno‐Functional Properties

open access: yesComprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Volume 25, Issue 6, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Legumes are increasingly used as functional ingredients in plant‐based foods. However, their compact endogenous structure restricts techno‐functional properties. Conventional fractionation methods that isolate proteins further impair these properties and generate co‐products.
