Identification of Rubber Belt Damages Using Machine Learning Algorithms

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This paper presents the experimental results of a Machine Learning application for the health monitoring of a conveyor belt. The real-time analysis of the rubber belt condition is a crucial issue in achieving safety and avoiding critical failures and ...

Ecophysiological Responses of White Clover - Hybrid Ryegrass Mixture to Foliar Fertilisation

open access: yesNotulae Botanicae Horti Agrobotanici Cluj-Napoca, 2015
The rationale of the study was to check whether the association of hybrid ryegrass with white clover owing a moderate competition capacity, and optimal foliar fertilization will provide high and stable yields by reducing conventional fertilization rates.

Mid-J CO observations of Perseus B1-East 5: evidence for turbulent dissipation via low-velocity shocks

open access: yes, 2014
Giant molecular clouds contain supersonic turbulence and magnetohydrodynamic simulations predict that this turbulence should decay rapidly. Such turbulent dissipation has the potential to create a warm (T ~100 K) gas component within a molecular cloud ...

BMI‐1 modulation and trafficking during M phase in diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The schematic illustrates BMI‐1 phosphorylation during M phase, which triggers its translocation from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. In cycling cells, BMI‐1 functions within the PRC1 complex to mediate H2A K119 monoubiquitination. Following PTC596‐induced M phase arrest, phosphorylated BMI‐1 dissociates from PRC1 and is exported to the cytoplasm via its

Outflow - Core Interaction in Barnard 1

open access: yes, 2010
In order to study how outflows from protostars influence the physical and chemical conditions of the parent molecular cloud, we have observed Barnard 1 (B1) main core, which harbors four Class 0 and three Class I sources, in the CO (J=1-0), CH3OH (J_K ...

The cooperative regulation of miR‐221 by APE1 and AUF1 impacts p27Kip1 defining a miR signature relevant for cervical cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A regulatory axis involving APE1, AUF1, and miR‐221 is proposed. Pri‐miR‐221 is processed by DROSHA and DICER to generate mature miR‐221, which targets p27Kip1 mRNA. APE1 and AUF1 compete for pre‐miR‐221 binding. Reduced APE1/AUF1 levels impair miR‐221 biogenesis, decrease p27Kip1 mRNA degradation, and promote cell cycle progression, chemoresistance ...

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Optimization control strategy of wide ZVS range and automatic Euler angle for bi-directional wireless power transfer system by TPS

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
In this study, a control strategy for broad ZVS operating range and BDWPT system efficiency optimization was created. The matching requirements for using TPS (three phase shift) in a BDWPT system with a double-sided LCC compensated network are ...

Cross-Border Cooperation in Slovak-Czech Border Region under EU Programmes

open access: yesEuropean Countryside, 2013
Jednou z možností rozvoja cezhraničných regiónov je cezhraničná spolupráca. Cezhraničná spolupráca pozdĺž slovensko-českej hranice je v dôsledku viacerých skutočností (spoločná minulosť v rámci jedného štátneho útvaru, historické väzby, podobnosť jazyka ...

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 regulates cell adhesion and membrane protrusive activity of ovarian cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.
