Theory Status - Puzzles in B Meson Decays and LFU?

open access: yesSciPost Physics Proceedings, 2019
Currently B meson puzzles motivate many studies of New Physics due to the observed deviations from the Standard Model predictions. There are two B meson puzzles, RD(∗) and RK(∗).

Fingerprinting CP-violating New Physics with B → Kμ + μ −

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
The B → Kℓ + ℓ − system is particularly interesting to explore physics beyond the Standard Model. Such effects could provide new sources of CP violation, thereby giving rise to Wilson coefficients which could not only be real, as assumed in most analyses,

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

First evidence for the annihilation decay mode B+ → D+sΦ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Evidence for the hadronic annihilation decay mode B+→D+sϕ is found with greater than 3σ significance. The branching fraction and CP asymmetry are measured to be B(B+→D+sϕ)=(1.87+1.25−0.73(stat)±0.19(syst)±0.32(norm))×10−6,\hfillACP(B+→D+sϕ)=−0.01±0.41 ...

Spectral Verification of the Mechanisms behind FBG-Based Ultrasonic Guided Wave Detection

open access: yesSensors, 2020
Ultrasonic guided wave (UGW) detection with fiber Bragg grating (FBG)-based sensors has received increasing attention in the last decades due to the ability to perform non-destructive inspection (NDI) of large plate-like surfaces with a network of ...

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

B-physics at the LHC

open access: yes, 2009
Data which will be taken at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) will allow a rich programme of B-physics studies to be carried out, both at LHCb, LHC's dedicated heavy flavour experiment, and at ATLAS and CMS.
