Surgical Outcomes and Recurrence Management in Borderline Resectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma: Implications for Multidisciplinary Strategies

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
Multivariate analysis identified that up‐to‐7 out (p < 0.001), lymph node metastasis (p < 0.001), and non‐anatomical resection (p = 0.02) were independent predictors of cancer recurrence, while older age (p = 0.01), Child‐Pugh B (p < 0.001), up‐to‐7 out (p = 0.01), macrovascular invasion (p = 0.01), and lymph node metastasis (p < 0.001) were ...

Does a Single Vitamin B-Supplementation Induce Functional Vitamin B-Deficiency?

Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine, 2001
In a pilot study we measured the effect of three different combinations of the vitamins B6, folate and B12 on the serum concentrations of homocysteine, cystathionine and methylmalonic acid in five healthy young men without hyperhomocysteinemia. The results indicate that there are still undescribed interactions between vitamin B6 and folate, suggesting ...

Homocysteine and B Vitamins

2005
Homocysteine (tHcy) is an intermediate sulfur-containing amino acid which acts as a methyl group donor for methionine metabolism. Increased serum concentrations (=hyperhomocysteinemia, >10 micromol/l) have been associated with an increased cardiovascular risk.

THE VITAMIN B COMPLEX

Journal of the American Medical Association, 1948
The group of dietary factors, the vitamin B complex, is included in the larger class of water-soluble vitamins because, like all vitamins, they are required by the body in small amounts and because the individual chemical compounds are soluble in water although the degree of solubility varies from the sparingly soluble riboflavin to the readily soluble
