Fluorescent amplified fragment length polymorphism analysis of Bacillus anthracis, Bacillus cereus, and Bacillus thuringiensis isolates [PDF]
DNA from over 300 Bacillus thuringiensis, Bacillus cereus, and Bacillus anthracis isolates was analyzed by fluorescent amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP). B. thuringiensis and B.

ABSTRACT Timely identification of highly pathogenic bacteria is crucial for efficient mitigation of the connected harmful health effects. Matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization time‐of‐flight mass spectrometry (MALDI‐TOF MS) of intact cells enables fast identification of the microorganisms based on their mass spectrometry protein fingerprint ...

Structures of Sortase B from Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus anthracis Reveal Catalytic Amino Acid Triad in the Active Site [PDF]
Surface proteins attached by sortases to the cell wall envelope of bacterial pathogens play important roles during infection. Sorting and attachment of these proteins is directed by C-terminal signals. Sortase B of S.

Genome sequence of Bacillus cereus and comparative analysis with Bacillus anthracis
Bacillus cereus is an opportunistic pathogen causing food poisoning manifested by diarrhoeal or emetic syndromes. It is closely related to the animal and human pathogen Bacillus anthracis and the insect pathogen Bacillus thuringiensis, the former being ...

Weak solutions for a bioconvection model related to Bacillus subtilis [PDF]
We consider the initial-boundary value problem for the coupled Navier-Stokes-Keller-Segel-Fisher-Kolmogorov-Petrovskii-Piskunov system in two- and three-dimensional domains. The problem describes oxytaxis and growth of Bacillus subtilis in moving water. We prove existence of global weak solutions to the problem.

A Low Dimensional Approximation For Competence In Bacillus Subtilis [PDF]
The behaviour of a high dimensional stochastic system described by a Chemical Master Equation (CME) depends on many parameters, rendering explicit simulation an inefficient method for exploring the properties of such models. Capturing their behaviour by low-dimensional models makes analysis of system behaviour tractable.
