Detection of hdc Gene from Histamine Producing Bacillus subtillis and Serratia marcescens

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Sciences and Biotechnology, 2017
In the present study, two histamine producing bacteria were used to detect the presence of hdc gene using PCR. The histamine production was confirmed by using Soyabean Casein Digest Agar (Tryptone Soya Agar). The DNA was isolated using Phenol: chloroform method.

Identification, characterization and classification of prokaryotic nucleoid‐associated proteins

open access: yesMolecular Microbiology, Volume 123, Issue 3, Page 206-217, March 2025.
Nucleoid‐associated proteins (NAPs) structure DNA by either bending, wrapping, bridging, or forming protein filaments on the DNA. We review newly identified NAPs and provide a list of simple biochemical assays to study the DNA‐structuring properties of novel NAPs. Abstract Common throughout life is the need to compact and organize the genome.

Conserved nature of Helicoverpa armigera gut bacterial flora on different host plants and in vitro interactions with PI proteins advocates role in host digestive physiology

open access: yesJournal of the Saudi Society of Agricultural Sciences, 2019
Helicoverpa armigera is anxious insect pest of agricultural crops. Array of defensive molecules in host plants and extensive use of chemical insecticides are unable to cease the attack incidences.

Kuwaitimycin, effect on synthesis of lipids in Bacillus subtilis cells.

open access: yesThe Journal of Antibiotics, 1977
The effects exerted by kuwaitimycin on synthesis of lipids as well as some metabolic activities of Bacillus subtilis were studied. The antibiotic not only arrested the inocrporation of 14C-acetate into the microbial lipids but also altered the fatty acids pattern, contents of i-C 15, a-C 15, i-C 17 and a-C 17 WERE MARKEDLY REDUCED, CONCOMITANT WITH AN

Antibacterial Activity from The Cashew Nut Shell Extracts [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Cashew nut shells were considered as a waste material of the cashew industries; therefore, we used this material as a source of antibacterial drugs and as a source of chemical constituent. Anacardium accidentale Linn (Anacardiacea family) popularly known

Transcriptional responses of Bacillus subtillis and thuringiensis to antibiotics and anti-tumour drugs

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Medicine, 1998
DNA supercoiling is a major regulator of transcription in all organisms. This process is regulated by type I and type II DNA topoisomerases that are targets for microbial antibiotics and/or anti-tumour drugs. Despite extensive studies in this field, no information is available on the response of Bacillus (B) species to eukaryotic DNA topoisomerase ...

Impact of Bacillus subtilis as a Growth Promoter in the Cultivation of Tabasco Chili Pepper (Capsicum frutescens)

open access: yesAdvances in Agriculture, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
The growth and production of Tabasco chili are limited by various fertilization, edaphoclimatic and biotic factors. This study evaluated the influence of Bacillus subtilis on the growth of Capsicum frutescens cultivars by characterizing plant conditions before and after treatment.

Could Biofloc Technology (BFT) Pave the Way Toward a More Sustainable Aquaculture in Line With the Circular Economy?

open access: yesAquaculture Research, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Aquaculture is a growing industry, but current practices and raw material utilization must be reviewed to ensure a resilient and sustainable development. In this sense, the transition from a linear economy (take, make, dispose) to a circular one (renew, remake) is accelerating.
