Involvement of Flagellin in Kin Recognition between Bacillus velezensis Strains
Kin discrimination in nature is an effective way for bacteria to stabilize population cooperation and maintain progeny benefits. However, so far, the research on kin discrimination for Bacillus still has concentrated on “attack and defense” between cells

Antagonistic activity of Bacillus velezensis
A large number of synthetic pesticides have been developed to combat phytopathogenic bacteria and fungi, but their use is economically unprofi table and harms the environment. The aim of this study was to evaluate the antagonistic properties of Bacillus velezensis HR13 bacteria in relation to cultures of phytopathogenic bacteria and fungi, as well as ...

Bacillus velezensis is a later heterotypic synonym of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens [PDF]
Strain BCRC 14193, isolated from soil, shared more than 99 % 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity with Bacillus amyloliquefaciens BCRC 11601(T) and Bacillus velezensis BCRC 17467(T). This strain was previously identified as B. amyloliquefaciens, based on DNA-DNA hybridization, but its DNA relatedness value with B. velezensis BCRC 17467(T) was 89 %.
