Parameter Optimization of Tunnel Oxide Passivated Back Contact (TBC) Solar Cells

open access: yesEnergies
Traditional simulation work often starts from the study of the impact of a single factor on device performance to obtain the optimal value of that factor and then regards the combination of the optimal values of each factor as the optimization condition.

Patient comfort following thirty minutes of lens wear: piggy-back versus conventional rigid-lens wear

open access: yesAfrican Vision and Eye Health, 2014
Discomfort when wearing contact lenses, especially rigid contact lenses, is a common complaint amongst neophyte as well as experienced contact lens wearers. Wearing a piggy-back system of contact lenses has been shown to improve comfort and wearing time,

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Well Intended Contact Failures on Interdigitated Back Contact Solar Cells

open access: yesSiliconPV Conference Proceedings
The interconnection of the cells that make up a solar panel is a simple step, but it is not unimportant. The panels are made up of cells in series, so that a poorly connected cell can spoil the good performance of the entire panel.

Suns-V$_\textrm{OC}$ characteristics of high performance kesterite solar cells

open access: yes, 2014
Low open circuit voltage ($V_{OC}$) has been recognized as the number one problem in the current generation of Cu$_{2}$ZnSn(Se,S)$_{4}$ (CZTSSe) solar cells. We report high light intensity and low temperature Suns-$V_{OC}$ measurement in high performance

On the Mechanism of the Step Coverage of Blanket Tungsten Chemical Vapor Deposition [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
In this study, computer modeling of the contact fill process with chemical vapor deposition, (CVD) of tungsten is usedto show the importance of several details on the quality of the fill process. The effect of surface curvature on the stepcoverage of CVD-

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Role of surface microstructure of Mo back contact on alkali atom diffusion and Ga grading in Cu(In,Ga)Se2 thin film solar cells

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering, 2019
While the major function of molybdenum (Mo) back contact on soda‐lime glass (SLG) substrate in Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) solar cells is to provide good adhesion and good conductivity, its role as the transportation channel for alkali elements from SLG ...
