Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Understanding the Role of Organic Hole Transport Layers on Pinhole Blocking and Performance Improvement in Sb2Se3 Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces
Sb2Se3 is an emerging semiconductor which has shown promise for low‐cost photovoltaic applications. After successive record‐efficiencies using a range of device structures, spiro‐OMeTAD has emerged as the default hole transport material (HTM), however ...

Wheel/Rail Two-Point Contact Geometry With Back-of-Flange Contact

open access: yesVolume 5: 6th International Conference on Multibody Systems, Nonlinear Dynamics, and Control, Parts A, B, and C, 2007
In this investigation, a numerical procedure that can be used for the three-dimensional analysis of wheel and rail contact geometry is developed using the constraint contact formulation. The locations of contact points are determined for given lateral and yaw displacements of a wheelset when one-point contact is considered for each wheel, while these ...

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Optimizing CdS/Sb2S3 solar cells for enhanced performance: reaching 26.83% efficiency

open access: yesMaterials Research Express
This study, developed a CdS/Sb _2 S _3 -based solar cell structure using Sb _2 S _3 as the absorber material and CdS as the window layer. The performance of the ITO/CdS/Sb _2 S _3 /Pt heterostructure was numerically analyzed using SCAPS-1D software.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

XIS: A Low-current, High-voltage Back-junction Back-contact Device

open access: yesEnergy Procedia, 2013
AbstractIn this paper we present experimental results of a low-current, high-voltage back-junction back-contact device. The concept is demonstrated by the successful transformation of finished IBC cells into XIS (Crystalline Silicon Interconnected Strips) devices, leading to 8.5V for a series connection of 14 strip cells. Different grooving methods for

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.
