A Full Configuration Interaction Perspective on the Homogeneous Electron Gas
Highly accurate results for the homogeneous electron gas (HEG) have only been achieved to date within a diffusion Monte Carlo (DMC) framework. Here, we introduce a newly developed stochastic technique, Full Configuration Interaction Quantum Monte Carlo ...

Polyelectrolyte Design Principles for Electrophoretic Drug Delivery
Structure–property–function mapping of polyelectrolytes reveals how composition and nanoscale order control on‐demand electrophoretic drug transport. Charge density quantified under implant‐relevant conditions shows that encapsulation limits swelling, enabling high effective charge density.

Analytical solution for a thin hydrodynamic accretion disk shows that for some values of the viscosity parameter part of the accretion flow in the disk is not towards the star, but in the opposite direction. We study thin disks by performing hydrodynamic simulations and compare the numerical with analytical results.

A yolk@shell structured photothermal evaporator was prepared via simple sol‐gel and spray coating methods. By taking advantage of the unique yolk@shell structure, the position of the TE module within the evaporator can be optimized without affects its water evaporation performance. This results in efficient and stable evaporation (3.08‐3.17 kg m−2 h−1)‐

Polymer translocation: The effect of backflow
We investigate the effect of backflow on the translocation dynamics of short, flexible polymer chains threading through a small hole in a wall. We find that hydrodynamic interactions between polymer beads play an important role in determining the translocation time distribution: as a monomer moves through the hole it sets up a flow field which ...

A meta‐YAG crystal with artificially order/disorder structures was fabricated to realize the efficient third‐harmonic generation at 343 nm with a conversion efficiency of 4.5×10−3, surpassing six orders of magnitude compared to bulk YAG crystal. Moreover, a wide spectral tunability from 331 to 356 nm was also achieved in the meta‐YAG, indicating its ...

A high‐dielectric niobium oxide (NbOX) electron‐selective contact is introduced to modulate the perovskite/C60 interface in perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells. By shrinking the defect capture radius and chemically passivating Pb‐related defects, NbOX extends carrier diffusion length and optimizes energy‐level alignment, enabling both high efficiency

Numerical Study on the Design of an Anti-Backflow Injector for Combustion Chambers
The backflow of high-temperature products in an engine’s combustion chamber is a key issue which can significantly reduce combustion efficiency. This is particularly problematic for hypergolic propellants, as the high-temperature products may still ...
