Relaxing Accurate Initialization for Monocular Dynamic Scene Reconstruction with Gaussian Splatting
Monocular dynamic scene reconstruction is a challenging task due to the inherent limitation of observing the scene from a single viewpoint at each timestamp, particularly in the presence of object motion and illumination changes.

Re‐Irradiation in Pediatric Diffuse Midline Glioma: A Multi‐Institutional Retrospective Study
ABSTRACT Background Children with recurrent diffuse midline gliomas (DMGs) have limited therapeutic options at recurrence. Re‐irradiation (RT2) may be used at progression, but with uncertainty about the benefit. Methods We conducted a multi‐institutional retrospective study of children aged < 18 with DMG treated at three centers (Toronto, Canada ...

Background and Initial Experiments with the Dynamic Ergodic Divertor on TEXTOR [PDF]
Recently, the Dynamic Ergodic Divertor (DED) with 18 helically wound coils at the high field side has been installed on TEXTOR. The DED allows static and dynamic operation up to 10 kHz. The specific features of ergodization and the open laminar zone are discussed. The dynamic feature leads to induced electrical currents and to a force transfer from the

The cosmic microwave background and the stellar initial mass function [PDF]
We argue that an increased temperature in star-forming clouds alters the stellar initial mass function to be more bottom-light than in the Milky Way. At redshifts $z \gtrsim 6$, heating from the cosmic microwave background radiation produces this effect in all galaxies, and it is also present at lower redshifts in galaxies with very high star formation
