A review of approaches to control bacterial leaf blight in rice
World Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2022The Gram-negative bacteria Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae, the causative agent of bacterial leaf blight (BLB), received attention for being an economically damaging pathogen of rice worldwide. This damage prompted efforts to better understand the molecular mechanisms governing BLB disease progression.

Inheritance of Resistance to Bacterial Halo Blight and Bacterial Leaf Spot in Arabica Coffee
Plant Disease, 2023Developing coffee cultivars resistant to multiple diseases by combining resistance genes is a top priority in breeding programs. To create cultivars resistant to diseases and nematodes, we transferred genes for resistance to bacterial infections caused by Pseudomonas coronafaciens pv. garcae, which causes bacterial halo blight (BHB), and P.

Epidemiology and Control of Bacterial Leaf Blight of Rice
Annual Review of Phytopathology, 1969INTRODucnoN The bacterial leaf blight disease of rice was first observed in the latter part of the last century in various localities of southern Japan. Severe dam age has been caused annually since then. Scant information is available on the occurrence of this disease in other countries.

Inoculation and Virulence Assay for Bacterial Blight and Bacterial Leaf Streak of Rice
2012Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) and Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzicola (Xoc) cause bacterial blight and bacterial leaf streak in rice, respectively. Despite being very closely related, the pathogens colonize different tissues and cause distinct diseases.

Chemical Control of Bacterial Leaf Blight of Rice
Tropical Pest Management, 1980Abstract Antibiotics, Agrimycin 100, Agrimycin 500, Agric. Terramycin 17, A.S. 50 and Streptocycline, and fungicides, Brestanol, Fytolan and Vitavax, were evaluated under field conditions for control of bacterial leaf blight of rice caused by Xanthomonas oryzae. Agric. Terramycin 17, Brestanol, Agrimycin 500 and a combination of Agrimycin 100 + Fytolan

Genome-wide association mapping for resistance to bacterial blight and bacterial leaf streak in rice
Planta, 2021Using genome-wide SNP association mapping, a total of 77 and 7 loci were identified for rice bacterial blight and bacterial leaf streak resistance, respectively, which may facilitate rice resistance improvement. Bacterial blight (BB) and bacterial leaf streak (BLS) caused by Gram-negative bacteria Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) and X.

Control of Bacterial Leaf Blight of Rice Assay of Chemicals
Madras Agricultural Journal, 1978An invitro study was conducted to findout the suitable and effective fungicides and antibiotics to control the leaf blight of rice caused by Xanthomonas oryzae. Twelve fungicides and nineteen antibiotics with 50, 100, 200, 400. 500 and 1000 concentrations were sprayed three times at 15 day interval, in the rice variety Karuna.

Recessive bacterial leaf blight resistance in rice: Complexity, challenges and strategy
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2007Physical mapping and map-based cloning strategies are routinely used for identification of candidate genes for major qualitative traits in rice. Such strategies have enabled mapping and characterization of dominant bacterial leaf blight (blb) resistance genes, but little progress has been made in case of the recessive resistance genes.
