This material is commonly baled and if not used immediately may remain exposed in the field for some months before being converted, by processing, into insulating and acoustic board. The influence of supermasscolloider on the morphology of sugarcane bagasse and bagasse cellulose
Fibers and Polymers, 2016Sugarcane bagasse (SB) was subjected to mechanical and chemical treatments in order to investigate the influence of both treatments on the morphology of cellulose extracted from SB. Samples treated with supermasscolloider (SMC) showed a slight increase in the cellulose content and a highest content after chemical treatment.

Kinetic studies of thermal decomposition of sugarcane bagasse and cassava bagasse
Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, 2016The thermal decomposition of sugarcane bagasse and cassava bagasse was investigated by the use of the non-isothermal thermogravimetric technique. The experiments were performed with the following heating rates: 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 °C min−1. The kinetic parameters of thermal decomposition were estimated by the Flynn–Wall–Ozawa and the Kissinger methods.

Influence of Temperature on Kraft Pulping of Whole Bagasse and Depithed Bagasse
Sugar Tech, 2019Bagasse is a heterogeneous material consisting of 60–70% fiber, and rest is pith. In this paper, the impact of temperatures (165 °C and 140 °C) and time (0.5 h and 1 h) on kraft pulping of whole bagasse and depithed bagasse was analyzed. The resulting pulps were refined, and handsheets were made before subjecting them to mechanical testing.

Experimental studies on the toxicity of bagasse
Environmental Research, 1980Abstract The bagasse fiber has a significant cytotoxic effect in macrophage cultures. The toxicity may be attributed to some organic component of the fiber. In the presence of serum the toxicity was inhibited. Poly-2-vinylpyridine-1-oxide gave no protection against the cytotoxic action.
