An Alternative to Avrami Equation [PDF]
This paper proposes an alternative to the Avrami equation capable of describing whole transformation curves with significant fitting-correlations. The model bears physically meaningful parameters which permit considering the initial transformation ...

Study on Kinetics of Transformation in Medium Carbon Steel Bainite at Different Isothermal Temperatures [PDF]
Ultra-fine carbide-free bainitic (UCFB) steel, also known as nano-bainite (NB) steel, is composed of bainitic ferrite laths with nanoscale thickness and carbon-rich film-like retained austenite located between laths. The bainite transformation kinetic model can accurately describe the bainite transformation kinetics in conventional austempering (CA ...

Both ausforming and transformation temperature affect the successive bainitic transformation and microstructure. The individual influence of each case is clear, whereas the combined effects are still unknown. Thermomechanical simulation and metallography

This work presents the effect of Ni content on the bainite morphology and in the mechanical properties of low-carbon special bar quality steels. Four steel ingots with the same base chemical composition, having only Ni content as their main difference ...

Influence of Intermediate Annealing Treatment on the Kinetics of Bainitic Transformation in X37CrMoV5-1 Steel [PDF]
Intermediate annealing treatment (IAT) is a new process that accelerates the bainitic transformation in steels. This stimulation is crucial, especially in the prolonged production of nanobainitic steels. Among other recognised methods, it seems to be an effective and economical process. However, there are very few research works in this area.

An In-Situ LSCM Study on Bainite Formation in a Fe-0.2C-1.5Mn-2.0Cr Alloy
Direct microscopic observation of the isothermal bainite evolution in terms of nucleation events, the location of the nuclei, as well as their growth is very valuable for the refinement of models predicting the kinetics of bainite transformation. To this

A New Physical Model for the Kinetics of the Bainite Transformation
A model describing the bainite reaction is presented that takes into account the effect of very small austenite grain size. This model considers the displacive approach and uses thermodynamic criteria for the description of the nucleation and growth of bainite sub-units forming either at grain boundaries or autocatalytically on previous sub-units.

The aim of this work was to develop a method to evaluate the kinetics of bainite transformation by theoretical deduction and thermal dilatation curve analysis. A Gleeble-3500 thermomechanical simulator and dilatometer (DIL805A) were employed to study the

BAINITE : OVERALL TRANSFORMATION KINETICS
New experimental results on the overall transformation kinetics of the bainite reaction (in three different steels) are interpreted in terms of recent work on the transformation mechanism of bainite. The analysis is shown to be consistent with (a) a linear dependence of the activation energy for isothermal nucleation, on the transformation free energy ...
