Effect of austempering temperature on the microstructure evolution of ultrafine bainite steel

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2016
The isothermal transformation kinetics of experimental steel was studied by the thermal expansion method. Uhrafine bainite was obtained by austempering at low temperature. The microstructure was quantificationally analyzed by scanning electron microscopy,

Phase Transformation Behavior of Continuously Cooled Fe–C–V–(Mo) Alloys

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Additions of vanadium and molybdenum microalloying are shown to reshape phase transformations in clean low‐carbon steels. By tracking microstructural shifts during continuous cooling, the work uncovers the correlation between transformation kinetics, ferrite morphology, and hardness.

Effect of Double Annealing on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of a Medium Manganese Steel

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
A double intercritical annealing strategy is proposed to tailor the multiphase microstructure and mechanical response of a medium‐Mn steel. The treatment produces an ultrafine mixture of ferrite, martensite and multiple austenite populations with graded thermal and mechanical stability, formed through austenite reversion and controlled retransformation.

Influence of Tramp Elements on Phase Transformations, Structure, and Properties of Scrap‐Based Steels: A Focused Review of Recent Developments

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
This review explains how impurities from recycled scrap affect steel production and performance. Even small amounts (far below 1%) of these impurities can change how steel behaves during fabrication but also affect the properties of the end product. With better understanding and targeted countermeasures, these challenges can be managed, enabling wider ...

Tailored Hardening and Isothermal Bainitizing of Additively Manufactured Nitrogen‐Enhanced Martensitic Chromium Steel

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Tailored heat treatments transform additively manufactured high‐nitrogen martensitic Cr steel from austenitic as‐built condition to high‐hardness states. Isothermal bainitizing at 250°C generates an ultrafine nanostructure and achieves higher hardness than conventional hardening and tempering, highlighting a promising postprocessing route for laser ...

Study of the Effect of Deformation on Transformation Diagrams of Two Low-Alloy Manganese-Chromium Steels [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Metallurgy and Materials, 2018
The work deal with an assembling and comparing of transformation diagrams of two low-alloy steels, specifically 16MnCrS5 and 20MnCrS5. In this work, diagrams of the type of CCT and DCCT of both steels were assembled.

Two‐Stage Isothermal Transformation of Austenite into Nanobainite in a Chemically Inhomogeneous Medium‐Alloy Steel Containing 0.5 wt% C

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 97, Issue 6, Page 3308-3327, June 2026.
The effect of chemical inhomogeneity on the microstructure and properties of nanobainitic steel is investigated. A two‐stage isothermal heat treatment that produced a more uniform microstructure is designed. The first‐stage temperature is higher than the MS of depleted bands; conversely, the second‐stage temperature is lower than the first‐stage ...

Effect of the cooling rate in the medium temperature zone on the phase transformation and microstructure of carbide-free bainitic steel

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
Controlling continuous cooling is considered an effective means of producing high-strength and high-toughness bainitic steel. A medium carbon bainite frog steel is designed.

Decomposition characteristic of austenite retained in GCr15 bearing steel modified by addition of 1.3 wt.% silicon during tempering

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2019
The decomposition characteristic of austenite retained in a GCr15 bearing steel modified by the addition of 1.3 wt.% silicon during tempering was investigated by microstructural observation, X-ray determination, and dilatometric experiment.
