Sentiment Recognition in Egocentric Photostreams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Lifelogging is a process of collecting rich source of information about daily life of people. In this paper, we introduce the problem of sentiment analysis in egocentric events focusing on the moments that compose the images recalling positive, neutral ...

Two-band model interpretation of the p- to n-transition in ternary tetradymite topological insulators

open access: yesAPL Materials, 2015
The requirement for large bulk resistivity in topological insulators has led to the design of complex ternary and quaternary phases with balanced donor and acceptor levels.

Fine‐Tuning Alkyl Chains on Quinoxaline Nonfullerene Acceptors Enables High‐Efficiency Ternary Organic Solar Cells with Optimizing Molecular Stacking and Reducing Energy Loss

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, 2023
Material design of guest acceptor is always a big challenge for improving the efficiency of ternary organic solar cells (OSCs). Here, a pair of isomeric nonfullerene acceptors based on quinoxaline core, Qx–p‐C7H8O and Qx–m‐C7H8O, is designed and ...

Polarization-Engineering in III-V Nitride Heterostructures: New Opportunities For Device Design [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The role of spontaneous and piezoelectric polarization in III-V nitride heterostructure devices is discussed. Problems as well as opportunities in incorporating polarization in abrupt and graded heterojunctions composed of binary, ternary, and quaternary

Optimization of the anaerobic co-digestion of pasteurized slaughterhouse waste, pig slurry and glycerine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The feasibility of co-digestion of blends of two different animal by-products (pig manure and pasteurized slaughterhouse waste) and recovered glycerine was studied in mesophilic conditions.

Fast Addition Using Balanced Ternary Counters Designed with CMOS Semi-Floating Gate Devices [PDF]

open access: yes37th International Symposium on Multiple-Valued Logic (ISMVL'07), 2007
This paper presents ternary counters using balanced ternary notation. The balanced ternary counters can replace binary full adders or counters in fast adder structures. The circuits use recharged CMOS semi-floating gate (RSFG) devices. By using balanced ternary notation, it is possible to build balanced ternary addition circuits, which can add both ...

Optimum Chemical Balance Weighing Design under Certain Condition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
2000 Mathematics Subject Classification: 62K05, 05B05.The problem of estimation of unknown weights of p objects is considered. The experiment is carried out according to the standard Gauss-Markoff model of the chemical balance weighing design.

A versatile Montgomery multiplier architecture with characteristic three support [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We present a novel unified core design which is extended to realize Montgomery multiplication in the fields GF(2n), GF(3m), and GF(p). Our unified design supports RSA and elliptic curve schemes, as well as the identity-based encryption which requires a ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
