Effect of ball milling process on mechanical properties of medical Ti–Mg composites

open access: yesFenmo yejin jishu
Ti–15Mg composites were prepared by ball milling, cold pressing, and microwave heating sintering. The effects of ball milling parameters on the properties of the Ti–15Mg mixed powders and the mechanical properties of the sintered composites were studied.

Low-Temperature Rapid Synthesis and Superconductivity of Fe-Based Oxypnictide Superconductors

open access: yes, 2010
we were able to develop a novel method to synthesize Fe-based oxypnictide superconductors. By using LnAs and FeO as the starting materials and a ball-milling process prior to solid-state sintering, Tc as high as 50.7 K was obtained with the sample of Sm ...

Microstructure and anti-oxidation properties of CoNiCrAlY-Al2O3 composite coatings based on core-shell structured powder design

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng, 2021
The core-shell structured CoNiCrAlY-Al2O3 powders were well-designed and fabricated with the Al2O3 as the shell. The ball milling preparation process of core-shell structured powders was optimized by orthogonal experiment design.

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.
