Modification of taro starch using ball milling process

open access: yesInternational Journal of Biological Macromolecules
The modification of starch with green, sustainable, and chemical-free techniques is gaining interest in food applications. The present study examines the effect of ball milling on the morphological, functional, and rheological properties of taro starch over different milling durations (30-120 min).

Impact of MgO Additions on the Oxidation Resistance and Compression Behavior of Vanadium Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An increase in oxidation resistance at 600 °C is achieved for alloys containing more than 2.5 wt.% MgO. It has been established that, along with V2O5, MgO6V2, and Mg2O7V2 are formed, which are presumed to enhance oxidative stability. Furthermore, the possible transformation of Mg‐vanadates through reaction with CO2, which presumably occurs in this ...

Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries

Robust Electrocaloric Performance Enabled by Highly‐Polar Frustrated Nanodomains in NaNbO3‐Based Ferrodistortive Relaxor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
P4bm framework in NaNbO3‐Ba(Ti, Hf)O3 ferrodistortive relaxor entails short‐range and highly‐polar ferrodistortive orders. The abundant highly‐polar orders facilitate to increase entropy change, and robust octahedral oxygen tilt enables to impede thermal perturbations.

Comparison of equivalent ball milling processes on Fe70Zr30 and Fe70Nb30 [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Alloys and Compounds, 2012
Dynamical analysis of the movement of a single ball in a planetary ball mill yields a cubic law with the frequency of the mill for the power released during the process. This fact has been explored for two binary compositions (Fe70Zr30 and Fe70Nb30) using two different milling frequencies.

Support‐Controlled Reaction Pathways via Dynamic Sulfur‐Mediated Interfaces for Selective Urea Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sulfur‐doped graphitized carbon nanofibers act as adaptive catalyst–support platforms, enabling dynamic sulfur‐mediated reconstruction and strong metal–support interactions. This unique behavior enhances catalyst stability and controls reaction pathways, achieving highly selective urea oxidation (∼92% N2) coupled with efficient hydrogen evolution ...

Digital simulation of rock grinding process in ball mill

open access: yesScientific Reports
Modelling of grinding load motion is important for determining the dynamic parameters of grinding bodies in grinding chambers, which directly affects the determination of energy consumption of rock destruction in mills of various types. The aim of the work is to create a digital physical model of the grinding load of a drum mill, taking into account ...

Extraordinary n‐type Tellurium‐Free Thermoelectric Performance of Y‐Doped BiSe via Synergistic Effect of Vacancies and Band Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Yttrium doping in Sb‐alloyed BiSe synergistically induces Bi vacancies and flattens conduction bands, simultaneously slashing lattice thermal conductivity by 50% and boosting the power factor. The optimized n‐type Bi0.64Sb0.3Y0.06Se delivers a peak zT of 0.91 at 393 K (average zT 0.76, 300–523 K) and an 8‐pair module with 4.6% conversion efficiency ...
