Between Hedging and Bandwagoning: E3 and Iran's Nuclear Program From the JCPOA to the 2026 “Ramadan War”

open access: yesGlobal Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article examines the evolution of the European Troika's narratives on Iran's nuclear program, from the aftermath of the JCPOA to the 2026 “Ramadan War.” Drawing on an analysis of 55 official statements by E3 leaders and diplomats, the study traces how the E3 shifted between a posture of normative hedging and one of bandwagoning.

Israel's Post‐War Healthcare Obligations

open access: yesBioethics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Since the beginning of the Israel–Hamas war in 2023, the healthcare infrastructure within Gaza has been dismantled. While international humanitarian law mandates distinction between lawful targets (combatants and military objectives) and non‐lawful targets (civilians and civilian objects), and acknowledging the inherent complexities of ...

Adaptive Optical Layers: Efficient Tall Cell Grids for Liquid Simulation

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Tall cell grids have been proposed as an efficient approach to accelerate large‐scale liquid simulation. In this framework, regions near the liquid surface are discretized with regular grids, while regions farther away are represented by elongated rectangular cells.

Contextual Learning of New Meanings for Familiar Words: Perturbation of Original Meanings Occurs Without Deliberate Study

open access: yesLanguage Learning, EarlyView.
Abstract The present study investigated learning new meanings of known words from reading, following Hulme et al.’s (2018) study. English speakers read four short stories containing 16 critical words (i.e., familiar word forms assigned invented secondary meanings).

Bolide Light Curve Systematics from 75 Recovered Meteorites

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract How does the energy deposition profile (light curve), deceleration, and penetration depth in Earth's atmosphere depend on asteroid composition and meteorite type? Here, we present the light curve and velocity profile of 75 bolides from camera‐documented meteorite falls.

Modeling and Simulation of Ballistic Impact

open access: yes, 2016
Numerical simulations are increasingly becoming an important tool to obtain efficient designs of protective structures, and the existing literature shows that many phenomena can be accurately described by standard methods and models. This thesis, specifically, focuses on novel methods of modeling and simulating ballistic impact.

Geophysical update of the diameter of the Zhamanshin impact structure, Kazakhstan

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract The rim of the 0.9‐Ma‐old Zhamanshin impact crater in Kazakhstan is considered to be almost completely exposed via a series of hills surrounding a central flat area, indicating an apparent diameter of 14 km. This would make Zhamanshin the second largest impact crater of the Quaternary period. However, the overall geometry of these hills is not

Computational Modeling of Decision Making Enhances the Adversity Researcher's Toolbox

open access: yesTopics in Cognitive Science, EarlyView.
Abstract Over the past decades, there has been major progress in our understanding of how adversity influences cognitive abilities and strategies. However, most of this research is based on raw performance, such as response times and accuracy. These measures are informative about decision‐making outcomes but tell us little about cognitive processes. In
