Deciphering the regulatory role of PheSnRK genes in Moso bamboo: insights into hormonal, energy, and stress responses

open access: yesBMC Genomics
The SnRK (sucrose non-fermentation-related protein kinase) plays an important role in regulating various signals in plants. However, as an important bamboo shoot and wood species, the response mechanism of PheSnRK in Phyllostachys edulis to hormones, low

Does nitrogen and phosphorus addition alter water use traits of Moso bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis (Carrière) J. Houz.) forest in the fast-growing period in subtropical China?

open access: yesAgricultural Water Management
Nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) fertilizers are widely applied in Moso bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis) forest to enhance productivity; however, their roles in regulating bamboo water-use traits remain poorly understood, particularly the interactive effects

Genome-wide characterization of the GASA gene family in Phyllostachys edulis (Carrière) J.Houz.: Evolutionary patterns and functional implications in growth and hormone signaling

open access: yesAdvances in Bamboo Science
The Gibberellin-Stimulated Arabidopsis (GASA) gene family encodes small, secreted peptides transcriptionally regulated by gibberellin (GA). These play vital roles in plant growth, development, stress tolerance and hormone signaling.

Microbial succession drives flavor development in low-salt fermented bamboo shoots: A correlation analysis of physicochemical dynamics and metabolic pathways

open access: yesFood Chemistry: X
This study investigates the critical role of microbial succession in flavor formation during low-salt (1 % NaCl) fermentation of Jipo bamboo shoots (JPBS). Results demonstrated that texture was significantly correlated with pH and organic acids (p  1), 2,4-dimethylbenzaldehyde was identified as the main contributor to the aroma.

Effects of nitrogen forms on adaptive strategies of Moso bamboo seedlings under low-phosphorus conditions

open access: yesAdvances in Bamboo Science
Soil phosphorus loss frequently occurs in subtropical regions, leading to extremely low phosphorus levels in forest soils. This deficiency adversely affects soil fertility and hampers normal plant growth.
