Near‐Field Electrospinning Micro‐Printhead Achieves Precise Control of Nanofiber Deposition
A micro‐printhead for near‐field electrospinning enables reproducible deposition of polymer nanofibers with diameters below 50 nm. Systematic parameter studies uncover the mechanisms linking operating conditions to fiber morphology, paving the way for precise and low‐cost nanoscale 3D manufacturing. As a high‐resolution, cost‐effective, and rapid ...

Band offsets at the Ge/GeO2 interface through hybrid density functionals
Band offsets of the Ge/GeO2 interface are calculated through a hybrid density functional scheme. We first generate a model of disordered GeO2 through ab initio molecular dynamics to describe the oxide component.

Band offsets at Ge/GeO2 interfaces: Effect of different interfacial bonding patterns
Using hybrid density functional calculations, we investigate possible origins for the large variation of band offsets measured at Ge/GeO2 interfaces. We consider atomistic model interfaces with both amorphous and crystalline oxides, in which the bond ...

Photoelectric properties of n-SiC/n-Si heterojunctions
Photovoltaic effect in isotype heterotructure formed by nanocrystalline silicon carbide films on single crystal n-Si substrates (n-SiC/n-Si heterojunction) was studied. The films were produced by direct ionic deposition method.

Powder Optimization Strategies for Binder Jetting Printing of BaTiO3 and Ba0,6Sr0,4TiO3 Ceramics
Powder optimization is investigated to enable binder jetting of BaTiO3 and Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3 ferroelectric ceramics. The antagonistic relationship between flowability and binder compatibility is addressed through binder impregnation of granulated powders and fumed silica addition to fine powders.

Evaluating Energy Absorption Performance of Filled Lattice Structures
Maximum stress must be considered to robustly evaluate energy absorber designs. This approach was applied to compare all types of absorbers in a single Ashby diagram and determine the utility of filling lattice voids with a second material. High‐performance fillers can improve the performance of lattices that are limited by buckling or catastrophic ...
