Troponin T and Neurofilament Light Chain Levels as Complementary Biomarkers of Disease Accumulation and Aggressiveness in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a clinically heterogeneous neurodegenerative disease requiring reliable biomarkers to improve patient stratification and trial design. While serum neurofilament light chain (sNfL) reflects neuroaxonal stress and disease aggressiveness, troponin T (TnT) may capture complementary aspects of ...

Longitudinal Changes in Adiposity after a Youth Sport‐Related Knee Injury: Informing Post‐Traumatic Osteoarthritis Prevention

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective Youth who experience a sport‐related knee injury have elevated odds of overweight or obesity in 3‐10 years, compounding their risk for post‐traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA). To inform prevention strategies, this study compared patterns of adiposity change between youth with a sport‐related knee injury and uninjured youth in the 2‐year period ...

Rafting of Ni‐Based Superalloys Under Multiaxial Load as Understood by Phase‐Field Simulations and Critical Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

0.5 V Fully Differential Universal Filter Based on Multiple Input OTAs

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The design of a low-power, low-voltage, fully-differential universal biquad filter is presented in this work, which is constructed from four multiple-input gate-driven operational transconductance amplifiers (MI-OTAs) along with one passive resistor and ...

Fostering Innovation: Streamlining Magnetocaloric Materials Research by Digitalization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetocaloric cooling (MCE) is an environmentally friendly refrigeration method with great potential. Optimizing MCE materials involves the preparation and screening of large quantities of samples, which in turn generates a large amount of data. A digitalization approach is presented that uses ontologies, knowledge graphs, and digital workflows to ...

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

Sample Latent Feature-Associated Low-Rank Subspace Clustering for Hyperspectral Band Selection

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
In recent years, subspace clustering has become increasingly popular and achieved great success in band selection (BS) of hyperspectral imagery. However, current subspace clustering approaches are mostly insufficient in capturing the fine spatial ...

Molecular Dynamics Studies of Shape Memory Polymers: From Bead–Spring Models to Atomistic Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

User Selection Algorithms for Block Diagonalization Aided Multiuser Downlink mm-Wave Communication

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
In order to meet the ever increasing data rate demands, the next generation of wireless communication systems is being designed for exploiting the large amounts of unused spectrum in the millimeter-wave (mm-wave) band.

End-to-End Hyperspectral Image Change Detection Based on Band Selection [PDF]

open access: yes
Change detection (CD) aims to identify differences in the same scene at different times. With the increasing amount of hyperspectral images (HSIs), more and more CD techniques use HSIs as the raw data. HSIs often contain redundant bands, where only a few
