Pseudotyped Virus for Bandavirus

2023
The genus Bandavirus, belonging to family Phenuiviridae, order Bunyavirales, consists of eight tick-borne bunyaviruses. The Dabie bandavirus, formerly known as severe fever with thrombocytopenia virus (SFTSV), belongs to the genus Bandavirus. This emerging pathogen was first identified in central China in 2009.

Nonstructural Protein NSs Activates Inflammasome and Pyroptosis through Interaction with NLRP3 in Human Microglial Cells Infected with Severe Fever with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome Bandavirus

Journal of Virology, 2022
Encephalitis or encephalopathy during severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is considered a critical risk factor leading to high mortality, but there have been no studies to date on the pathogenesis of encephalitis or encephalopathy caused by SFTS virus.

Bergamottin, A Natural Bioactive Compound, Inhibits Dabie Bandavirus Infection In Vitro and In Vivo

Journal of Medical Virology
ABSTRACTSevere fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is a novel, highly fatal disease caused by Dabie bandavirus (DBV), also referred to as severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV). DBV is endemic to many Asian countries, and its incidence has recently increased.

Coagulopathy in Dabie bandavirus infection is related to endogenous heparinoids release and mast cells activation

Thrombosis Research
The prolonged activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) and thrombin time in patients infected with Dabie bandavirus (DBV) have been recognized to be poor prognostic indicators and attributed to a heparin-like effect rather than a decrease in coagulation factor levels. To clarify the correlation between endogenous heparinoids and coagulopathy in ...

First detection of Bandavirus dabieense in ticks collected from migratory birds in the Republic of Korea

Acta Tropica
The causative agent of severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is Bandavirus dabieense, an emerging tick-borne zoonotic pathogen. Migratory birds have often been suggested as potential carriers of ticks that can transmit Bandavirus dabieense; however, their role remains unclear.

Tectorigenin Reduces Dabie bandavirus‐Induced Cytokine Storm by Regulating Toll‐Like Receptor 7/Extracellular Signal–Regulated Kinase Pathway

Chemical Biology & Drug Design
ABSTRACTSevere fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is a severe emerging infectious disease caused by Dabie bandavirus (DBV). Tectorigenin has been demonstrated to exert anti‐inflammatory effect. Here, we aimed to investigate the effects of tectorigenin on DBV‐induced cytokine storm.

Host factor MxA restricts Dabie bandavirus infection by targeting the viral NP protein to inhibit NP-RdRp interaction and ribonucleoprotein activity

Journal of Virology
ABSTRACT Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is an emerging infectious disease with high case mortality rates, which is caused by Dabie bandavirus (DBV), a novel pathogen also termed as SFTS virus (SFTSV). Currently, no specific therapeutic drugs or vaccines are available for SFTS.

A century-old museum sample reveals a bandavirus with modern day presence in northern European bats

AbstractAncient genome sequences provide invaluable insights into the origin and evolution of viral pathogens, offering a broader temporal perspective that extends well beyond the limited timespan of clinical data, which typically covers at most a few decades.
