Bandwidth allocation in buffer insertion rings

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1987
In ring networks with the buffer insertion access protocol a significant role is played by the insertion buffer characteristics. It is shown how a suitable choice of the insertion buffer size in single stations allows provision of each station with a prescribed minimum bandwidth and with an upper bound on the delay performance of its messages.

The long‐run educational benefits of high‐achieving classrooms

open access: yesJournal of Policy Analysis and Management, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper examines how placement in high‐achieving classrooms within high school impacts students’ short‐ and longer‐term academic outcomes. Our setting is a large and selective Chinese high school, where first‐year students are separated into high‐achieving and regular classrooms based on their performance on a standardized exam.

Hybrid Encoder for Discrete and Continuous Variable QKD

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates a hybrid QKD encoder that bridges the advantages of discrete and continuous variables. Utilizing a self‐compensating iPOGNAC design, the encoder is compatible with space‐based and terrestrial quantum networks. The approach simplifies system complexity, improves stability, and ensures cost‐effective integration, paving the way for
