Prioritization-based bandwidth allocation for MOST networks

2013 IEEE 18th Conference on Emerging Technologies & Factory Automation (ETFA), 2013
The Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST) network, the current de-facto standard for in-vehicle multimedia and infotainment, does not provide support for the stream priority and serves bandwidth allocation requests based on their arrival order, irrespective of the stream importance.

Minimum distance bandwidth allocation over space communications

IEEE Communications Letters, 2007
The letter formalizes the bandwidth allocation process over space communication systems as a multi-objective programming (MOP) problem and proposes an allocation called "minimum distance" algorithm. The algorithm assigns the bandwidth so to approach the ideal situation where each station has the overall channel bandwidth available, as close as possible.

Constant bandwidth vs. proportional share resource allocation

Proceedings IEEE International Conference on Multimedia Computing and Systems, 2003
Due to the success of new multimedia technologies, there is a great interest in providing a resource allocation strategy suitable for multimedia applications. Many solutions proposed in the literature are based on proportional share resource allocation, such as WFQ, WF/sup 2/Q, EEVDF or SFQ.

Bandwidth allocation for multimedia teleconferences

ICC 91 International Conference on Communications Conference Record, 2002
A conference traffic model is formulated and link level and conference level congestion measures are derived. Motivated by the advantages of sharing transmission resources in time assigned speech interpolation (TASI) related voice communication systems, an analogous transmission policy for conference videos is proposed. The quantification of conference

Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation Criteria Over Satellite Networks

IEEE GLOBECOM 2007-2007 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2007
The paper studies the performance of possible bandwidth allocation criteria over satellite network. The methods practically implemented in a simulation framework and evaluated are the "value function" (VALUE), the "Nash bargaining solution" (shortly NBS) and the "Utopia minimum distance" (UMD).
