How attractive is a barchan dune?
New Journal of Physics, 2009 The spatio-temporal behaviour of barchan dunes is investigated experimentally with downsized longitudinal barchan dune slices generated in a narrow water flow tube. The development towards a shape attractor is shown on the basis of four different starting configurations in qualitative observation and quantitative analysis.
